Another month down.. half way to 1 year. We have let Jade try a few tastes of foods the past couple months like banana, mashed potatoes, ice cream, yogurt, root beer, blueberry, watermelon, etc. She isn't sure she likes most of that yet and will usually pull faces at anything besides breastmilk. We introduced a bottle with water in it in the past couple days. Shes starting to understand how to suck on it more than just chewing and teething on it and will hold it up herself. I have not pumped any milk to have her feed from a bottle yet. I just never get around to doing it and don't want to screw up my supply so I haven't gotten to it yet. She officially has 2 teeth! Her bottom 2 came through at the same time and she handled it like a champ. She has been biting me while feeding which is fun, but she's learning. She got her ears pierced this past month too! Her aunt Chandra had some lidocaine that we used on her ears in hopes that it helped her to not feel any pain. When we got to Merle Norman's, I had to wake her up so she was already grumpy with me. With that start and being held by people other than mom, she was off to a bad start and was crying before it started. She cried a good cry during the piercing as well, but calmed down fairly quickly after that. I don't know if it was far from the sound and everything or if she felt it. It didn't phase her after that. She didn't act like it bothered her or that she even noticed it and it has healed up nicely.
She has started kind of blabbering when she's crying.. usually just like "mama" "baba" nonsense. Maybe she knows what she's saying. 路♀️ Who knows. She always makes sounds that sound like "ya" at appropriate times too.
Her hair is starting to fill in again and looks to be about the same color as Damon's at this age. She still has cradle cap, but I'm hoping it will go away on it's own this time so I don't pull her hair out trying to scrub it off. I got some baby shampoo that is suppose to help and it looked better after 1 wash, but was still there. I will have to write about it later to update that as we use it more.
Jade is tall and healthy! She is passing up all the baby girls her age in height which is no surprise. I just hope she doesn't feel the way I did growing up and being taller than a lot of people (including boys) my age!
Jade LOVES her big brother so much. It is one of my favorite things to witness. They both love to play "catch you" as Damon calls it. Basically I just hold Jade and chase Damon around the house and that usually results in both of them laughing so hard! It's probably my only source of cardio these days. 臘♀️
