Jade cast update
Jade has been doing pretty good with her official cast. She's back to pushing her limits and being a crazy toddler again, but does baby the arm a bit which I'm happy about. The doctor ended up having to set the arm a bit when we got the cast. They did it while she was awake and without medication. They put the cast on and then pushed down on the arm to straighten it out. Of course she was not liking that and was crying "DONE PLEASE" over and over again. It was so sad to watch. She cried for maybe 10 minutes and then acted fine. They did an xray after the cast/setting and you could already see it was better lined up. They also ended up letting us know she would most likely have it off in 4 weeks instead of 6. Another thing they mentioned is that it will most likely take up to a year for the bone to completely straighten out, but the cast was only needed for the beginning stages of healing I guess? So it should be interesting to see how her arm looks after the cast is removed. Luckily Jade isn't super excited about swimming this year because it would be a bummer trying to keep her out of the pool. We ended up buying this cast cover which we used in the bath and seems to work ok, but we haven't attempted the pool with it yet. That's pretty much the lowdown for now. I'll update more when her cast is removed.
